1. Don't dart out from driveways or from between parked cars.
2. Stop at all stop signs
3. Be careful when checking traffic, and do not swerve when looking over your shoulder.
4. Always go with the traffic flow, and keep to the far side of the road.
5. Always wear your helmet!

Wearing a safety helmet while riding a bike, scooter, roller skates or skateboard is the law, for anyone under the age of 18! Helmets were designed to help protect against serious injury, and unfortunately even minor spills can mean serious head and brain injury.

Children just learning to bicycle may have frequent falls. A helmet provides protection for the child and some peace of mind for you during the learning stage. Older children may have more control over their bikes, but they often lack knowledge about the dangers and rules of the road.

Proper fit is very important when buying a helmet for yourself or your child. Make sure to try on the helmet before purchasing.

1. Position the helmet low on the forehead, not tilted back.
2. Adjust the straps for a snug fit, and buckle the helmet.
3. If you can move the helmet easily with your hand, add extra padding or try another size or model.
4. Make sure the helmet has enough padding and ventilation for comfort.
